1408 (2007)

I've seen this movie January of this year on HBO Asia twice and it never waned giving me goosebumps. Although I have not ready any (well, there was one though - The Skeleton Crew), the story itself was quite well written. The story started with this writer hoping to encounter perhaps a ghost, proving its existence or perhaps he is living a rather restless life (John Cusack's). A certain event would change everything when he chanced upon a mail from a hotel where 1408 is.

Although the movie did not rely heavily much on special effects (how is it called? CGI -- hint hint), it indeed send shivers to the audience's (in this case, mine) spines. A certain scene when he thought there was someone up in the ceiling in his room, a ghost (mummy perhaps? weird creature popped out of nowhere) I had shrilled so much so my other half jumped!

All in all, I'd give this movie all thumbs up!

PS: Much as I write reviews to short, I'd also to note that there were 2 endings of this movie- both of which are horrifying. I wouldn't mind watching it again.

Sunset Boulevard

I've watched this movie with other half and I say it is by far the "bestest" movie ever. Lines delivered and performance are extremely great and witty that to no extent can they be compared to any movies nowadays!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon

I had seen the movie about a couple of weeks ago (even listened its audio book) and it was by far the most dragging film I have ever seen. To start off:

1. The phasing of the movie was rather slow.

2. Too predictable. There was no room to ponder of what may happen next which is rather sad.

3. Characters' facial expressions, among others did not really correspond or compliment with the given scenes (e.g. Bella's constant fluttering of her eyes I feared it would permanently damage her sight, or Edward's too quipped lips by which words were hardly audible to name a few).

4. Suspension of disbelief may have to be reinforced but even so, I find this movie (even the book- all of its series) too weak. Had the author and perhaps the director put a little of twist to justify the time spent on watching the film (such as emphasizing the gravity of Bella's situation with the Volturri's or perhaps one of Cullen siblings betray the trust of the family or something of the sort would perhaps made the movie a little if not really that much interesting. But hey, that's is My opinion).

5.Lousy track music (goodness gracious!) If there's one thing I would not be able to forget about this movie is the number of tracks picked. Lame. Lousy. Utterly horrible.

Would I watch this movie again- never. Would I watch the third installment or even the last book- resounding never (even though I have finished listening its audio books)

Ps: I am newbie to this site but I have been checking out some reviews for every movies I see. In as much as I would like to give this movie a 0%, I'll just give it a 10 probably out of the 'effort' they (from the directors etc) made.
