The Dark Knight Rises(2012)

A marvellous climax to an unforgettable trilogy. Nolan brings together a spectacular cast who can only watch in shock as Gotham is engulfed by the brute force and monstrous nature of Bane, the scariest villain of 2012 played by the hugely talented Tom Hardy. 165 minutes is a long run time for a film but blimey it went fast, as people say "time flies by when you're having fun", and I was having fun. The Dark Knight Rises features jaw dropping action, the sequences are neat yet expertly constructed from the airborne hijacking to the gripping Gotham chase at the finale, and best of all Bane's bombing on Gotham. The cinematography is stunning as the camera sweeps over the city and around numerous other exotic locations, this movie is beautiful to look at, especially during the IMAX scale scenes. Christian Bale brings a somewhat fractured nature back to his famous character, alongside Cat-woman played by Anne Hathaway, I think she is the best thing to happen to this trilogy, she brings some serious style and wit to the screen. Marion Cotillard is excellent, her character is part of a shocking narrative twist that will knock you off your feet. This movie is absolutely brilliant and guaranteed to keep you entertained, hooked and totally blown away. I could watch it over and over again, better than the first and more enthralling than the second, The Dark Knight Rises is the fastest and most enjoyable 2 hours 45 minutes I've spent in a long time.
