Pulp Fiction
Pulp Fiction(1994)

Two hitmen, their boss, his wife, a boxer, and a luminescent briefcase comprise if not the best movie of the 90's then surely the coolest. The movie follows these characters around during a three-or-so day period filled with murder, betrayal, and contest dancing. With the movie content following these characters around it allows itself to break free of formulaic restraints and mundane, plot-driven dialogue. As quotable as it is re-watchable and as violent as it is comic, with Pulp Fiction QT crafted his masterpiece (not bad for only his second film) that would be copied, but never bettered. Everything accentuated by the wonderful irony at the core of the film-while plenty happens, in the end nothing is really accomplished. Few movies can claim to be this entertaining. A+

8 1/2
8 1/2(1963)

At one point early on in the movie a doctor asks Guido if he'll be making another film without hope. He is, of course, refering to Fellini's previous effort, La Dolce Vita. If La Dolce can be encapsulated as the loss of hope then 8 1/2 is the about the reemergence of hope and more importantly, artistic inspiration. How Fellini accomplishes this is through a dizzyingly hypnotic trip into the mind of a tormented director( Mastroianni embodying Fellini). Brilliantly blending the present, nostalgia, and the male id what we are left with is a love letter not just to cinema, but to the ecstasies of life and those who give it meaning. Not to be missed.

The Apartment

It doesn't get much better than this, movie-wise that is.

L.A. Confidential

If movies can't be perfect, this is the closest we'll ever get.

La Dolce Vita

This movie is intoxicating, you want to look away, but just like the main character you're totally absorbed.

Mister Roberts

One of the sadly, unheard of war movies that didn't need physical violence to display the drama of war. Funny and touching.

Once Upon a Time in the West

Rivaled only by the wild bunch for displaying the death of the western genre. Truly a sensation for the eyes and ears.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

The only way you could dislike Indiana Jones is if you're a nazi or a snake.

Some Like It Hot

Nobodys perfect...except maybe Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in one of the funniest movies ever made.

The Graduate
The Graduate(1967)

A movie that has perhaps the happiest and saddest ending of all time...

Apocalypse Now

"This isn't a film about Vietnam, this film is vietnam!" - Francis Ford Coppola

Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior

One of the greatest action movies ever made
