Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Loved it! I loved it so much. It was really eye catching and the pace never really got muddled, it was all quick and for a comic adaptation it sure was pretty good. For a movie with high video game content I was not let down and it for all intensive purposes it satisfied me on various levels, from my inner geek to my love of kung-fu flicks. It pulls it off in a way that doesn't make it seem cheesy and even when it was cheesy it just went with it. There was hardly any pauses between moments that made me 'laugh out loud'. If the chance presents it self I'm seeing the again!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

This is kind of sad, I mean it seems something like Percy Jackson or a more 'bad ass' Harry Potter, I mean it is still sad. We see Mr. Cage go from a real great role like Big Daddy in Kick Ass to this.. lame done before macho crap role. What's that? The sorcerer's apprentice is quirky and has awkward times with women? basically like any other 'side kick' inspired movie. I'll even bet there's going to be a part where either the Sorcerer get's captured or momentary put out and then 'the student will become the master' the plot is already kind of predictable.

Despicable Me

Not that bad, not that funny, hell of a lot better then Eclipse and Airbender put together.

The plot near the middle is let's face it predictable but they way they pull it off doesn't make you groan but instead go 'damn.. well at least he turned out okay'.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Book 1: Water - Vol. 3

I loved this series SO much. First off this series literally saved Nickelodeons ass and on top of it was one of their most viewed and highest rated show in a few years. Interesting characters, spot on humor (which is a fresh breath of air in the crap we call cartoons now-a-days) and a wonderful plot centered around both the balance of the elements and a wonderful and rarely touched upon Asian theme that wasn't about manga/anime/Japan.

Me and my friends loved it, watched it, ranted about it and generally wanted to gobble up anything that was Avatar. Also the way they throw in those little 'side toons' which even had hints at relation ship pairings or 'shiping' was awesome! It made me laugh, get pumped up and sad all at the right times. The only downside I would say, would be Kitara and her 'instant' mastery of water bending and or techniques that seemed to take others (save for Aang) years to master. And it was reaching a bit with that whole 'Meteor Sword' thing with Sakka but I will let that slide because otherwise... he would be kind of like Jar-Jar, but better humor. But that stuff doesn't happen till WAY into the series, my new goal is to buy the dvd's, treasure them and hopefully when a generation or two comes along can show them how 'hip' 2000+ was, at least concerning this show.

Which makes me sad to see such a crappy movie coming out to 'represent' it and the characters/plot I came to both love and hope for. I knew that any remake especially a live-action remake was going to go sour.
