The best thing about this movie is definitely the humor. There are just so many funny takeaways from this movie, from the "Peter Tingle" to the "Night Monkey" quotes.
The writers are definitely very humorous, and just went to town with the script that I couldn't help myself chuckle at the Cinema every now and then.
The storytelling and characterizations were also really, really good. But one thing that I didn't like though is that the villain just felt quite lame. After battling Thanos in the last movie, you have Spiderman battling just some guy with fancy tech.
The movie did try to make the villain really menacing and threatening, but in the end it just didn't work out for me. Despite that, I still think this movie is entertaining enough to watch, if only for the humor. Highly recommended.
OUTSTANDING. What made this movie work for me is that first, they changed its theme to an action comedy, the 2000 Shaft film was a bit too serious but this one has a lot of humor and often pokes fun at itself.
Because of that it reminded me a lot of the Lethal Weapon franchise. Second is the contrast between the Ghetto born and raised Samuel L. Jackson Shaft to his Politically Correct Millennial son. Lots of opportunity for humor there and naturally they milked it down to the bone.
The casting was pretty good also, casting Comedian Regina Hall I felt was brilliant while Jessie Usher as Shaft's son nailed his part perfectly. Great that they also put the original Shaft Richard Roundtree into the movie and it was more than just a cameo, he had a substantial role in the movie.
Overall, a Must See for me, highly entertaining and funny.
I agree with the professional movie critics, this is a perfect movie. The storytelling and characterizations are excellent, you know exactly the themes that are being tackled.
It has humor, adventure, thrills and some very touching moments. And there are no true villains, only misunderstood characters that eventually get their own salvation.
Woody rides off to the sunset ... well, sort of. I loved it, I hope to watch it again. Toy Story 4 is an absolute Must Watch movie for me, go see it.
It's not as bad as the Professional Critics and Rotten Tomatoes would have you believe. In fact, I thought the storytelling and action scenes were pretty good.
Sophie Turner I felt did very well in the lead role. However, I do have some issues, like why did Jean go to Magneto when she definitely would've known how close Magneto and Mystique were.
Also, the powers and abilities of the race of Jessica Chastain's character were never really explained fully which was a bit of a distraction for me.
Still, overall a fairly good movie. Definitely not at Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: End Game level, but watchable enough.
An absolutely sh..ty movie. Kelly Rohrbach and the soundtrack are about the only good things in the movie, the rest is rubbish. The dialogue is mediocre, the tone of the movie is off, and the plot is derivative and predictable. Skip it if you can.
