Review:
though it overall was a mess and a big disappointment even for the fans too. but the fans will like it just because the are going to see the live action version of their favorite Toy series, comic book and animated cartoons. i wasn't a fan of it simply because i didn't even knew about it. people were looking forward ti it but i wasn't much interested even by the trailer i knew what was installed in for me.

never seen such a terrible mess of a maybe big action movie. it looks nice with some nice or good action scenes and a quite mediocre use of Visual effects as usual because it was a Sommers movie but a bit improvement. plot was not interesting at all with an awfully written screenplay. editing was bad and so was everything else. the characters and acting performances weren't good or likable at all. it was forgettable and awfully made. and that underwater battle? it was hilariously made i mean so much of a mess. Don't see this movie if you haven't even though you are fan.

SHORT REVIEW

A group of kids defend their Maine vacation home from knee-high alien invaders in this adventure comedy for the entire family. Before long, the aliens have taken Ricky over via a powerful mind-control device, and announced their intentions to claim Earth for the "Zirkonians." Review:
Yes this was another Family Sci Fi Comedy that i saw on DVD. on the whole it was better that the last Reviewed SHORTS but still i am going to give it a same rating. this is a nice family movie for teens and maybe kids. i think overall any age group since it has something for everyone. Ashley Tisdale wasn't use nice in this movie she was just there to increase the star value and attract a certain audience for the movie but she just wasn't a fit for this movie.

its about a family where group of children has to defend their vacation house from a bunch of Aliens that attack. they have some devices that are mind controllers. so that is the element in the movie that makes one laugh since the children really use their imaginations in weird funny ways to control mind of everyone. Aliens are here to take a device that is buried under the house which makes them grow in size. well ultimately it wasn't a very loud movie nor it could have done any harm to younger audience. jokes were really funny but overall it was a bad movie. plot and screenplay were dull.

Review:
So this was a Family comedy adventure movie back then that i saw on DVD. i use to see movies on DVDs alot in those days, i mean 2009 and early 2010. i thought i will have a nice time watching this light hearted family movie directed by Rodriguez and it looked nice too from the previews. a nice concept.

It yet again was a disappointment. i don't know why but most of our directors just can't make good children movies. it however not was a mess like his few other children movies. it had a nice and limited Cartoonish type of visual effects that were there to please younger children. it is a movie for them they will like it and enjoy it very much.

There are many characters in the movie playing a role in it so many stories are there which is why i can't describe this movie in few words as this is a short review but it revolves around a wishing rock which fulfills any wish. there are some evils trying to get it and children has to save it. below average direction and screenplay but the plot might be a bit amusing for some audience.

Crazy, Stupid, Love.
6 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream-good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his "perfect" life quickly unravels. Worse, in today's single world, Cal, who hasn't dated in decades, stands out as the epitome of un-smooth. Now spending his free evenings sulking alone at a local bar, the hapless Cal is taken on as wingman and protégé to handsome, thirtysomething player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling).

Starring, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Marisa Tomei , Jonah Bobo , Beth Littleford , John Carroll Lynch , Kevin Bacon , Analeigh Tipton , Joey King , Liza Lapira , Josh Groban.

Directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors of I Love You, Phillip Morris.

well here it is a Romantic comedy drama which actually is somewhat romantic, has comedy and drama. i was really looking forward to this movie after the very good response by both audience and critics. i am not saying i was disappointed or something but it just wasn't what i was expecting or i thought. it never gets Crazy as the title suggests, it is not stupid but definitely has love. it is crazy in a way that all the characters have some really crazy life situations and things going on, yes in that way it is crazy. it has every type of love, i mean love at first site, lost love, ever lasting love, crushes and everything else like that.movie starts off very well but after the first half, it gets really bellow average.

i see more maturity in the direction from their last too silly and too weird I Love You, Phillip Morris. they have progressed i think. this movie could have been something of a big and lovely movie but it is too forgettable. it never even tries to be clever or smart. the characters were too self absorbed and the whole movie was too phony for me. that usually bothers me. i wished they looked at actual people's life more closer and should have observed more clearer than they did to get this movie. they really looked like people from another planets, aliens, i couldn't connect to them or understand their feelings.

Steve Carell as Cal is a man who finds his wife Emily, Julianne Moore cheated on him with her Coworker David played by Kevin Bacon and she demands divorce. Cal starts frequents visit to a bar every night after he moves out of the house. he yells his sad story to everyone loud. Jacob, played by Ryan Gosling kind of notices him and decides to help him. he himself is really dashing and womanizer king of a guy who knows Tips To The Trade. the trade being bedding a girl every night with simple talks and gestures. he gets him a whole look and wardrobe change, starts meeting girls like him and the story continues to a rather nice and sweet end. their is Emma Stone playing Hannah, a law student who rejects Jacob at first but falls for him. and other arcs too but not gonna get into that.

when the reviews first started rolling in, everyone was just talking about Ryan Gosling. i really agree with the fact that his whole persona, the look, the attitude and his comic performance was nothing but a treat. he really was someone who is a Fairy Godmother type figure, a very too fantasy like. he is not someone you will find around you easily. Ryan looked super hot and really good in this movie. i am not a big Steve Carell fan but he really impressed me with his depiction of this character. he could have played it like a dead dull man with everything lost and too all over the place guy but he managed to keep a certain amount of balance in his performance with some comic approach to it and being the way he is. he was someone that was very believable to me among the entire characters. Julianne Moore once again plays someone who cries and yells and whines alot. she always performs too over the top for me, i think she always was overrated. her character was someone you really want to go and slap her. Kevin Bacon did a nice job, he wasn't much in the movie but like a nice addition to the cast.

Emma Stone is one gorgeous girl, she is really someone who has good comic timings and pulls romantic comedies very well. you have lately seen her like in every movie. she did nice, nothing great. Marisa Tomei as the teacher of Cal's son was nice too. i loved that crazy scene when Cal brings her to his apartment and moreover the Parent Teacher Meeting one where she gets really crazy. i laughed so hard at her, her expressions and the whole attitude was seriously hilarious.

there are some moments in the movie which really are touching, very few. it has some hilarious scenes that made me laugh. the pacing was slow which was something i liked but the way movie itself was moving was something i didn't liked. so it had Screenplay problems, that ruins everything. Editing was not done well. everything else was okay in it.

its not a high recommendation from me but you might like or even in some way love it, it maybe intoxicating for you too. it is a nice take on romantic comedy drama movies that needed much more than what it got but you still like it for everything it had and have good time.

The Guard
The Guard (2011)

The Guard is a comedic fish-out-of-water tale of murder, blackmail, drug trafficking and rural police corruption. Two policemen must join forces to take on an international drug- smuggling gang - one, an unorthodox Irish policeman and the other, a straitlaced FBI agent. Sergeant Gerry Boyle (Brendan Gleason) is an eccentric small-town cop with a confrontational and crass personality and a subversive sense of humor. A longtime policeman in County Galway, Boyle is a maverick with his own moral code. He has seen enough of the world to know there isn't much to it and has had plenty of time to think about it. When a fellow police officer disappears and Boyle's small town becomes key to a large drug trafficking investigation, he is forced to at least feign interest when dealing with the humorless FBI agent Wendell Everett (Don Cheadle) assigned to the case.

Starring, Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Liam Cunningham, David Wilmot, Rory Keenan , Mark Strong.

Directed by, John Michael McDonagh.

so this is a Irish Black Comedy that i really wanted to see this year after hearing such great things about it. i did and i am glad because this was so good i mean everyone has to see it, it was hilarious and entertaining. it is said to be the most successful Irish Indie movie right now in term of Box Office which previously was The Wind That Shakes The Barley.

Gerry Boyle is a very unorthodox Policeman with his odd behavior and a politically incorrect attitude. he joins with FBI agent Wendell Everett to bring down a gang of international Smugglers, some deaths also occur which points towards them. they forms an unlikely alliance that brings a violent. yes this movie is this much of a straight forward movie. it is simple but superbly fun. i don't know with a thin plot like this it still emerges as one of the best movies of the year, extremely lovable and adorable.

i clapped with a real heartfelt joy when the movie ended, it have been a while since i have ever felt like this. a very different take on the usual Buddy Cop Comedy. both of these characters have unbelievably strong and irresistible chemistry in this movie. definitely one of the nest action buddy cop comedies in years. it has violence, strong Irish accent and a profane intense language but i don't mind it. i like it actually.

Brendan Gleeson gave a superb performance in this movie, i wish he gets an Oscar nomination for this movie. he will make you smile, laugh and get you on your never seeing him doing and reacting to things in severely unbelievable manner and believe me, in the end, you will miss him, i mean when the movie finishes. he brings a charm to his character which he often does with his comedic timings but here it is more over a black comedy. this character is suppose to be like this, this is something he understood alot which brings bursts of laughs. he did a superb job. Don Cheadle as a straight forward and normal Cop is good too. other actors were nice too but it is mainly a movie that belongs to Gleeson.

John Michael McDonagh created a fantastic movie. superbly directed and well thought. cinematography is perfect. art direction was superb. i mean the interiors are done so good, colorful in contrast to the outside gray Irish Grasslands. it may reminds you of Fargo or some Spaghetti Westerns with modern touch and taking place in Ireland. Screenplay have been done excellently keeps your focus and interest in the movie. you are superbly interested in the characters than you are in the movie or the situations what happens in the movie. characterization as i said is perfectly done. didn't find any flaw in it. it has a perfect Editing being done and have some heavy score too.

it is not something you have never seen but it is just something you have never seen the way it should be that is shown here. no boring moments but slow at times which didn't bothered me at all. i loved this black comedy, i smiled and laughed throughout the movie and found myself thoroughly enjoying this movie. a perfectly done comedy, you don't need LOL gags to make a perfect comedy.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
