Liam Neeson succeeds once again in playing a convincing, bad-ass action hero in his latest action flick 'Non-Stop". The movie blends suspense, action, and a little comedy here and there to deliver an incredibly satysfying who-done-it mystery movie. The last 10 minutes felt a little rushed due to corny dialogue, but it didn't cripple the movie in anyway. The majority of the movie will have you on the edge of your seat despite a slight quality drop towards the movies final 20 minutes.
It was undoubtedly hilarious, but this is one of those comedies that appears to offer more in the trailer than the actual movie itself. For one, the story keeps it incredibly safe, with little to no suspense which is a shame because 30 Minutes or Less had a very convincing story on paper. Also, while Jesse Eisenberg plays his role very well, most of the cast simply go through the motions. Aziz Ansari doesn't even seem to care, as he says his lines with no emotion. Danny McBride and Nick Swardson are both funny, but this isn't one of their better movies due to the incredibly rushed story with a running time of under 80 minutes.
I would recommend this if you want to watch a simplistic, predicable comedy that serves up some good laughs here and there. This is nothing special by any means.
It certainely isn't legendary by any means. A terrible cast full of brain-dead models, cheesy action sequences with poor CGI and too many slow-motion scenes butcher The Legend of Hercules. Not to mention the movie doesn't know if it wants to be a drama or action movie as it fails miserably in both genre departments. Stick to 300 or Gladiator.
This easily makes the cut for one of the top five WORST movies I've ever seen. It's a complete disaster in every regard aside from a few chuckles in two of the skits. Unless you are a dumb fool drunk off your ass, then avoid this trainwreck. Don't be fooled by the all-star cast. This movie wastes so much talent.....
Words cannot express my disbelief at how awful this movie is.
Big Ass Spider has a lot more good going for it than you'd expect whether it was the acting, CGI, or story. The plot basically revolves around a lab experiment gone wrong. The spider involved in the devastating accident is accidentally shipped to a hospital where it reins havoc upon the hospital patients. It then roams out onto the streets seeking vengeance. It's up to a exterminator and his friend Jose the Janitor to stop the foul creature from reproducing. It might seem like an absurd story, but as long as you turn your brain off during the movie, you should be fine!
The special effects/CGI are actually very well done for a B-movie like this. It was interesting to watch the spider as it grew bigger and bigger, devouring and stabbing people left and right. The CGI of the spider was especially impressive, given the low budget on this film. The acting and dialogue was also very well done. It had a cheesy 80's feel to it, but it never got too over-the-top. It is also important to note that it was a smart move from the creators of Big Ass Spider to make it only 80 minutes. Any longer and it would've been overkill.
Check this out if you enjoy fun B-movies with over-the-top action and corny acting. It's a much better movie than other recent B-movies such as the un-watchable flick Birdemic.
