Life of Pi(2012)

You didn't like the book ? See the movie. You don't like the story idea ? See the movie. The acting looks dreadful? Still see the movie. There is one factor that separates Life of Pi from all the other great films I've seen this year. The beautiful cinematography and eye-popping 3-D showcases the visual talents of Ang Lee, who seems to be able to direct any genre. The film itself if a spiritual treasure, bringing out the religion, no matter what it is, in every viewer. Young Suraj Shurma, whom I had never seen before gives an outstanding performance as Pi, a young man sharing a lifeboat with a Bengal Tiger. Being the most beautiful film of the year should be a reason alone for seeing this film, but if you are not convinced, the lead actor gives a great performance alongside great supporting actors. Though nobody believed it could be done, Ang Lee masterfully brings us Life of Pi, one of the best, if not the best film of the year so far.
