Jack's Review of Snow White and the Huntsman
Before this year started, I had a list of all the movies I really wanted to see in 2012. My anticipation list included Snow White and Huntsman and I wish I could go back in time and stop myself.
BAD: This movie is bad. EXTREMELY BAD! Many things fall apart making this movie seem like a desperate attempt at pandering to audiences. It screams with a fury to be mixed in the likes of Lord of the Rings while trying to angle the Snow White's story effortlessly into it. The sad part is it fails hard. Kristen Stewart gets flack for her roles, but she has done good movies. However, she was the wrong choice for Snow White! She is possibly the plainest looking woman acting in Hollywood. Her beauty is not noteworthy. Yet, I am to believe she is the fairest and most beautiful woman in a kingdom that has Charlize Theron? Between her acting and overall look, Kristen Stewart may be the worst casting choice I have ever seen for a movie. The story was mildly amusing, but it lacks things to grab you. Many people looked bored throughout the movie. Also, the dark forest and enchanted forest have scenes of extreme craziness. I felt like I was on an acid trip watching parts of the movie and it was a bad trip.
Good: Charlize Theron was amazing as the Queen and Chris Hemsworth was equally good as the Huntsman. I really wished this was a better movie because their performances seem wasted on this.
Overall: The trailer gives you a sense of an epic movie, but it is purely false advertisement.
