Maria's Review of The Other Woman
The Other Woman(2011)
The first 3/4 of the film was hyper-focused more on the faults of Portman (i.e. the "downs" of healing). All the positive aspects of her character seemed to be purposely underplayed which caused me as a viewer to have less sympathy for her character than I should have had. Either the acting or the story-line gave off a negative vibe of a brooding, sulky character when what should have been portrayed was sorrow and how one grows through sorrow as they heal from loss. I think the script was most to blame for this downfall but I did find that, except for a few rare moments, Portman's character was not very believable.
