Maria's Review of Django Unchained
Along with Inglorius Bastards, this script is brilliant. Tarantino is immune to complacency and just keeps getting better and better as a script writer and film maker. There is so much thought put into the characters who are crafted with just the right dose of animation. I love the contrast between Django and Stephen. The sound track selection in this film is also clever - current rap tracks combined with older traditional country music brilliantly merges past and present. Never with Tarantino will you get a one dimensional view of who the victim/perpetrators are or what prejudice/justice is or isn't. He is also one of the best in bringing a live theatre feel to film.
