Excellent!!! Beautifully done! Very, very nice drama with suspense, romance, action, etc.....and based around actual events that happened. I love how they occasionally added in actual true newsreels from that time, also. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, well done historical fiction story.
Fun movie, as usual! Great acting, lots of adventure, drama, tension, interesting characters, and fanciful creations. Unfortunately, a to-be-continued film. That part upset me a bit. However, I did really enjoy it, and I cannot wait until the next one. Wasn't that the point of it all, anyway? :)
Decent movie about faith, and dedication. Good acting from Garcia, and the rest of the cast, in the first half of the movie. However, as time went on things became a bit overly dramatic. The stereotyping of good rebels, and bad government, was overdone. This movie could have been really good, but it just somehow missed the mark.
After watching this heart-wrenching documentary, I lost faith in the judicial system, child protective services, law enforcement and humanity in general. This documentary tears at you, and sends you down a dark and twisted rabbit hole. I felt saddened, angry, disgusted and just appalled at how the whole case turned out, and the extreme sadness that the actions of one person can do to a family. I hope that everyone can take something out of this movie.
Almost X rated - lots of graphic sex and violence. This is a very dark film, with people making terrible, tragic choices. Cusak, and McConaughey, were excellent....but, even great acting couldn't make all the ugliness worthwhile for me, or save a pointless script.
Really good loosely based bio-drama. A good look at the early history of AIDS. Shocking to watch how Matthew, and Jared, transformed themselves to look so terribly sickly. It's a bit slow at first, but it then develops quickly into a very interesting story. A bit vulgar at times, and not for families. Matthew, and Jared, truly deserved their Oscars for these roles.
A realistic portrayal of a mid-functioning autistic girl, and of the toll it takes on her increasingly desperate single mother. The actress who plays Mandy does a really believable job showing the difficulties of autism. The film's simplistic ending implies a solution has been found, but the problems are clearly still there. The story line was just ok, in my opinion. I have seen better dramas.
Well, it was interesting to watch. Not sure what all the raves are about. Very slow, but mildly charming in a way. Superb acting in a drab, and dreary story line. Typical kind of movie that critics love..
Maybe far fetched. Maybe some unanswered questions...but I can't help feel it was planned that way, in order to just focus on the children's ordeal, journey, and life consequences. I was drawn in completely...
