The King of Comedy
3 years ago via Rotten Tomatoes

The King Of Comedy is another great collaboration between Scorsese and Deniro, yet it is not one that comes to mind to many when you think of all their great works together, however it should not be overlooked because this movie has the wit and charm to be a great comedy.

I didn't find that the movie was really a "dark comedy" just a comedy itself, but maybe that's just because my sense of humor is more twisted than other people's...

Even though Deniro is at his best when he is a charming psychopath, he can also hold his own in a comedy, yet he still manages to keep that dark side of him as he plays an obsessive stalker.

Here is a quick overview..
Rupert Pupkin (De Niro), a stage-door autograph hound, is an aspiring stand-up comic with obsessive ambition far in excess of his still-budding talent. After meeting with Jerry Langford (Jerry Lewis), a famous comedian and talk show host, Rupert believes his "big break" has finally come. He attempts to get a place on the show, but is continually rebuffed by Langford's staff and, finally, by Langford himself. Along the way, Rupert indulges in elaborate and obsessive fantasies where he and Langford are colleagues and friends.

This movie deals with celebrity stalking, which is very relavant in the media obsessed society like ours
Me for example, Iam totally obsessed with Robert Deniro, I would definitely stalk him (lol just kidding)

Sandra Bernhard also appears in the movie and at first shes is annoying and sort of ruining the movie, but towards the end, her "dream date" with Langford is actually quite funny.

As you already know, I love Robert deniro, and this performance is no less brilliant and ingenious to any other of his performances, so please watch this movie and see for yourself :)

Gladiator (2000)

My dad has been telling me to watch this movie for a long time, he said it was simply epic, so i finally did and I completely agree. It is one of my favorite revenge movies starring Russell Crowe and Joaquin Pheonix who both give amazing performances.
Crowe portrays the loyal General Maximus Decimus Meridius, who is betrayed when the Emperor's ambitious son, Commodus, played by Phoenix, murders his father and seizes the throne. Reduced to slavery, Maximus rises through the ranks of the gladiatorial arena to avenge the murder of his family and his Emperor. The gladiator fighting scenes are really directed very nicely and the scenery really makes it believable that it is played in Rome. I don't believe there is one person watching this movie who cannot root for crowe's character to succeed and who cannot feel sympathy for him, especially after his wife and kid are burned alive and hung. So as i say to all of you, I was completely moved by the character's journey from beginning to end and is an epic movie worth watching :)

Casino (1995)

Alrite another great scorsese movie as you all know, and a lot of people say they actually liked casino better than Goodfellas, which i can personally agree with. I thought casino was much more entertaining and funny than Goodfellas (not that iam implying that Goodfellas wasn't amazing) the only thing that i hated about this movie was sharon stone! But even this bitch could not ruin this movie for me. Don't get me wrong she played the most annoying bitch to the max and she was really good at it, but it was a pain to watch her yelling and complaining throughout the movie, as deniro says "once a hooker always a hooker" and with a name like ginger what can you expect! but anyways i think we were all happy when she overdosed!Iam also happy deniro stayed alive cause I love him! I have to say that this movie has the funniest dialogue and the most excessive use of the word "fuck" (pretty much every other word), here are some of my favorite lines...(warning some limes are very graphic)
Nicky Santoro: I think in all fairness, I should explain to you exactly what it is that I do. For instance tomorrow morning I'll get up nice and early, take a walk down over to the bank and... walk in and see and, uh... if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your fuckin' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your fuckin' head open again. 'Cause I'm fuckin' stupid. I don't give a fuck about jail. That's my business. That's what I do.
Ace Rothstein: No matter how big a guy might be, Nicky would take him on. You beat Nicky with fists, he comes back with a bat. You beat him with a knife, he comes back with a gun. And if you beat him with a gun, you better kill him, because he'll keep comin' back and back until one of you is dead.
Nicky Santoro: [to Ace] Get this through your head you Jew motherfucker, you! You only exist out here because of me! That's the only reason! Without *me*, you, personally, every fuckin' wise guy skell around'll take a piece of your fuckin' Jew ass! Then where you gonna go? You're fuckin' warned! Don't ever go over my fuckin' head again! You motherfucker, you.
Ace Rothstein: You fucking mo-mo, what's the matter with you?
Nicky Santoro: You took your boots off? You put your feet on the table? You shit-kicking, stinky, horse-manure-smellin' motherfucker you. You fuck me up over there, I'll stick you in a hole in the fuckin' desert.
Ace Rothstein: Back home, they would have put me in jail for what I'm doing. Here, they're giving me awards.
Nicky Santoro: Hey, you fat Irish prick! You put my fucking money to sleep. You go get my fucking money or I'll put your fucking brain to sleep.
So yeah this is one of my favorite movies that i can watch over and over again and still enjoy it as much as I did the first time around, if you have not seen this movie you are seriously missing out on a great time :)
