From the moment I first the trailer, I knew that it would be a shame to not go out and see 'Prisoners' in theatres. Jake Gyllenhaal provides another memorable performance to his already impressive resume, and I would bet that Hugh Jackman at least gets an Oscar nomination for his role in this film. There are a few times in the movie where certain things are mentioned early on that you just know are going to be involved in the climax, but for the majority of the movie I was on the edge of my seat and wondering where they were going to go next. With superb supporting roles from Terrance Howard, Viola Davis and Maria Bello, and an especially noteworthy performance from Paul Dano, Prisoners is the perfect example of an exciting and emotional psychological thriller. You may be discouraged by the 146 minute running-time, but I will say that I was aware of how long this film was carrying on and I absolutely did not want it to end. A must-see for sure.
