Another rm that miss point of original. It didn't help that already fatigue from its predecessors that had 2 too many sequels already(oceans 12/13). What made Oceans 11 great was light hearted character with unique talent just in for a fun causal ride. This however cast was simply trying to hard to be funnier and cooler that loses its charm. Remind us that trying compete rather than be original doesn't always work out so well.
While movie may be slow to others even having a long silences there is a strong heart to film and deep passion into its characters. Its strength is not that into trying to convince they are something extra special they are trying to sell you that didn't see. In fact its opposite such shallow truth in front of us of who these people are and what they want could be not be anymore simple. It is a grittiness of people trying to take what they want anyway they can, often coming in different forms.
Personal think movie was overrated. While some really cool scifi scenes the movie goes its slow pace in space and creates superficial tension often playing everything as joke that don't really stick. Compared to something like cast away where Tom hanks struggle to survive and feel desperation on his journey. Matt Damon is just a cool cat through out film fixing everything with such ease that never really gives us reason to want or need to cheer him on as he clearly doesn't need our support. So while idea of story is pretty darn cool it mostly feels like just watching some fixer upper on webcam and don't get any real excitement outside of last 20 minutes of film.
Beautiful movie with special effects and another world ending movie that does add some twists and turns. Its debatable how good they are and if they draw you in. This is 100% a one time see type of movie to get full effect of what its going for but doesn't change the same message of Murphy's law that anything that can happen does.
I would describe movie as if a 15 year old that loves over top action movies and loves old timey gangster movies an combine both. So corny and no substance it felt like watching bad reality tv show claiming to be real as you can feel cringe and insincerity that it would be very hard to not mistake this as some parody of some one who hates gang movies.
