Cheap, sucky, overdirected, poorly acted and lazily written horror. Watch 'Monster Party' if you want a film that does the home invasion gone wrong thing with a tongue in cheek slant.
Passable if uninspired horror film. Not dreadful, but there's nothing to really recommend it either.
Pretty good kids film, especially given the low bar set by most of the other DC efforts.
I think a lot of the criticism of this film is unjustified. Sure, it's daft and campy but it strikes a nice tone, builds it's characters and is never boring. I went in with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
An excellent first half gives way to a dull, senseless and inconsequential second, culminating in an ending which renders the entire film as pointless wheelspinning and is just a set up for the inevitable sequel. Entertaining but disappointing.
