Road to Perdition

Gripping, heart-wrenching, and moving "Road To Perdition" is certainly a worthy addition to the crime drama echelon that gives us a poignant look at the relationship between fathers and sons.

I was initially skeptical about this film, but I have to say it surprised me. The chemistry between the three leads was good, albeit not great, and the laughs were in steady supply. Charlie Day's voice is annoyingly as hell! Kevin Spacey plays the tyrannical boss everyone loves to hate to perfection and Colin Farrell has a field day in his role as a pampered, obnoxious douche son-of-boss. It's not the funniest film out there, but it works.

The Departed is one of those movies i designate as "almost a classic." The only 2 criticisms I had were the ending, which in my opinion, was wrapped up far too quickly/choppily, and the fact that I had absolutely no idea what Alec Baldwin was doing in this movie. To this day I still don't have a clue. Mark Wahlberg is a cranky, perennially sarcastic delight as Sgt. Dignam. Its not the classic that Goodfellas is, but Scorsese comes pretty close with The Departed.

The Three Musketeers

This movie buries itself in camp and somehow does not want to dig itself back out and try to be a decent film. A re-imagining of a classic tale becomes a classic example of something god-awful and just plain bad.
