I loved this movie. It was so well done, very organic and very engaging. The ending was perfect : ) I won't spoil it by discussing it here, but I think the ending was the best part : ) You know, I don't think this movie could have been made here in the US. It would have lost it's subtlety and become ham handed and preachy. If you want a film that has no Hollywood glitz, just great, understated acting, with natural dialogue and believable, sympathetic characters, watch this one!
(a polite aside to RT) Are you insane!!! Seriously, are you insane or just deaf and blind?!!!
How the heck does anyone rate the original JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR as a 55?!!! It is and always will be an iconic masterpiece! Cast, music, everything, total perfection and will never be recreated, now matter how many versions Andrew Loyd Webber (Bless him for trying) offers us.
I think this movie should be shown every week starting in September (as that seems to be when they start displaying Christmas decorations in the stores) on through December!
To the critics of this movie, it might help to remember that the only way the creators can make their point is in a very tongue in cheek/snarky manor, otherwise it comes off as being "preachy". (pun intended ;)
Am I the only person on the planet that appreciates this movie?!!!
Granted, it was a little weird in spots, and it wasn't what I expected (actually, I don't know what I expected, but this wasn't it) *But* I found the movie intriguing, imaginative, and heck, it held my attention. Off beat sense of humor, and good acting. I also found the issues it brought up interesting. So, if you like thought provoking, dark weird humor, and just weird period, just go with it! I am glad I did : )
