This is easily in the top five super hero films of all time. Fantastic. The acting great, the plot excellent. The character development right on. I'm not a super hero fan, but you don't need to be to enjoy this film, it keeps you going and engaged not a dull moment. I highly recommend. If you have an opportunity watch this film take it. This is no average ordinary hero movie, it reaches further and makes the mark. If you older, don't have kids, see it anyway. Well worth the time. I wanted it to last longer. Five stars. This time the critics are right.
I love Stephen King and tolerate the too many attempts to adapt his work to film and TV. This is another waste of energy. Dull, not at all scary, and time consuming. When you read his books they become page turners, but on screen, nothing. This is slightly better than the nearly six hours of IT. But just as IT the film, it is anti-climatic without interest or energy. By the time we reach the show down we could care less about the out come. Not sure what movie the positive reviewers were watching. If your stuck home in quarantine and need to sleep, this may bore you into sleep. Shame almost none of his fantastic work has been done well. Honestly, it sucks being a fan and watching director after director destroy his brilliant work. He will be remembered as a national treasure, his films as some of the worst adaptations ever made. What a waste of great actors and material. What are these directors doing? I have zero directing experience and I believe I could do better with 30K and a couple of aides. Skip this one. Another terrible adaptation. Someone out there please stop ruining this great mans work.
I really wanted this movie to work. A great horror novel, but it does not. It is mind numbingly dull and the action looks very fake and maybe even silly. Not sure what the end was. Was IT a weird space baby? You'll reach the same conclusion I did, I don't care if IT was a space thing or a clown or a spider or anything. Please just let it end. There is nothing scary here either. If you enjoy senseless CGI, phone it in performances, and waiting for something to happen (which it never does) see this movie otherwise just read the book.
A silly and dull movie with two 'phone it in' performances by talented actors. There is a senseless premise here, never really explained. I still don't understand what some critics are raving about. This movie makes no sense and there is practically no chemistry between Matt and Emily. Trust me, this movie is very over-rated.
