Tate's Review of The Sixth Sense
The Sixth Sense(1999)
M. Night Shayamalan's The Sixth Sense is an extraordinary thriller that draws its power and focus from the cunning imagery and symbolism that is seen with each shot. Mastering the art of implementing concise camera angles, M. Night manages to piece together a reflective film that relies not on dialogue or special effects, but rather the crucial components that are visually expressive. Along with spectacular performances by Osment and Willis, the story unravels to expose an astonishing truth that retracts the whole film in a single moment. The movie exceeds beyond many similar phantom-filled movies of it's genre by providing a fulfilling answer to a primordial purpose.
