The Intern
The Intern (2015)

Critics sometimes miss the point of a film. Sometimes a movie doesn't need to be deep and complex. Sometimes it needs to be real and warm, which is what The Intern is. It's somehow more "honest" than other similar films. General likability and the chemistry between Anne Hathaway & Robert De Niro is unmatched.

Bridge of Spies

Again, I need to disagree with critics here. This is an well made film, great story and superb acting, but it suffers from slow writing. There are at least 20 minutes that needed to be axed to make the movie more palatable. Incredible story however, and Tom Hanks is well, Tom Hanks. Very good, but too slow to be great...

Trainwreck (2015)
22 months ago via Rotten Tomatoes

Trainwreck was good, but was it great? No. It was slightly above average, entertaining, but altogether a little stale. There is no arguing Amy Schumer is hilarious, but this movie needed to be 15 minutes shorter and condense those laughs into a more digestible package. Also safer than I thought it was going to be... Needs more risk taking to be funny, this is merely cute.

Freakonomics (2010)

Could have been so much better, but somehow the magic of the book was lost in this clunky filmumentary. Still interesting for geeks but less so for the average Joe.

Mr. Holmes
Mr. Holmes (2015)

Mr. Holmes takes a different look at the infamous detective Sherlock Holmes. Ian McKellen is incredible as the elderly Holmes, and gives a decidedly human perspective on the well known character.
