½

Great story but the characters and dialogue were amateurish and obviously written by hollywood writers with no science background. Hardly surprising since most of them are English majors with a grade school level understanding of basic science. Hence, unrealistic characters that fail to convince and detract from the story. Hint guys: Space ships don't make noise in space........and geologists care about more than rocks.

One for the Money

THE worst directed movie I have ever seen. Utterly unwatchable.

John Carter

This could have been a really great movie had they taken more interest in the details and background stories. I spent the first half of the movie trying to figure out why John Carter was so angry and uncooperative. His character didn't make a lot of sense. It isn't until almost the end of the movie that they give some insight into his character's background. Very good ending.

Paranormal Activity 3

The first movie in this series is one of scariest I have seen. This movie just re-packaged all the same scares from the first two movies and threw in a little Blair Witch. It was enjoyable from the perspective of a horror fan like me. But, the trailer was very misleading with the "bloody mary" references. The trailer shows bloody mary in the mirror standing behind the unsuspecting characters. This scene is NOT in the movie! They did nothing with it. What a missed opportunity to make this movie original and truly scary. The only really scary part was when they were in the pitch black bathroom waiting for bloody mary. I'm waiting for it......waiting for it.......... then nothing but more fucking around with "Tobey" the invisible friend. The movie screams for bloody mary. It references her in 2 or 3 separate scenes. I mean, come on. For the price of these movie tickets, the studios should at least make the previews honest.
