Love this movie. It's dark, thrilling and pretty terrifying if you "get it." It's a classic.
"The Curse of Michael Myers" is complete garbage. It's one of those "Halloween" films that attempts to, and fails, to apply a back story to Michael Myers. It makes no sense, mainly because it's a slasher film in which the killer kills everyone for a reason the movie tries and fails to explain. Apparently Michael Myers has an agenda and is extremely intelligent despite the fact that he walks slower than a 80-year-old man and hasn't learned to use a gun yet even after being filled with bullets. That's another thing; this guy never dies! He's been shot over a dozen times, blown up, beaten by a lead pipe and electrocuted. The only explanation is that he's Superman or Lord Voldemort.
Anyway, back to the movie, in which a lot of people die. People die, more people die and more people die. Hay baler. Druids. Death. I just summed up the story in this movie. I don't think this movie had a script. I think a bunch of potheads stood around and told the director, Joe Chappelle, what to do.
The only noteworthy thing about this pile of shit is Donald Pleasence's performance. He is good, as he was in every movie he was in before his death in 1995. Pleasence always had the ability to transform bad dialogue into something worth listening to. I'm a huge Pleasence fan, and I wish he were still alive today to show these other actors how it's done. I also wish "The Curse of Michael Myers" wouldn't have been his last film ever. And what the fuck kind of shitty agent did Paul Rudd have early on in his career?
I know of one person who likes this movie. That person is an idiot and he's also my brother, but he likes a lot of really bad movies, including Rob Zombie's "Halloween II." I honestly don't see what he likes about "The Curse of Michael Myers" because it really is a huge turd. It's one of those movies I wish I had never seen, but now I'll remember it forever because of how bad it is.
a great movie with a great screenplay that was hesitated by boring spots
very funny and very well put together
good movie but the first was better
