Despite the mixed reviews, I decided to check this film out in my quest to watch all of John Hughes movies. The story had legs and chronicled the build-up from marriage to suburban life to pregnancy to birth very well. The movie cut out a big opportunity to show Jake walking up to the aisle in dread and fear for the big changes coming to his life before he got married. The Flashback Scenes were annoying and a few of them added nothing to the story and were a hollow attempt at humour. Nonetheless I enjoyed watching the movie but it wasn't his best work.
Tried to watch this movie but I just found myself switching off halfway. Way too many central;characters and stories to follow which could have at least beeb executed in an engaging way with some emotion and outgoing personaliies but it just comes off as dry and bland. There were a couple of good moments but not enough to make me want to watch the rest of the film.
A pretty good film. There were a few bizarre moments and the ending scene left me confused but overall it was pretty enjoyable to watch all the way through.
Watched this movie for the first time. It's a really good movie and I think it's quite underrated compared to other John Hughes films. Not on the same level as The Breakfast Club or Ferris Bueller's Day Off but it will be a nice film to rewatch from time to time.
