- .5 - 1 - NO, skip it Everything about this movie is bad. You wish you had done something more worthwhile. Change the channel, demand a refund. 1.5 Stars - Bad, skip it. Bad, but there was nothing else on TV. You will definitely avoid watching it again, even on the next lazy weekend evening. 2 Stars - At least they tried, skip it. Some flickers of hope, but ruined by bad parts, or had promise that never came to fruition. You may not leave, but you still would never want to watch it again. 2.5 Stars - Meh, skip it. The threshold for okay. Don't avoid it, but don't put any effort into seeing it. 3 Stars - Not Bad, skip it. It has some aspects that lift it above mediocrity, but major problems. You would only watch it again spontaneously if it were a long time ago since you saw it. You wouldn't recommend this to someone. 3.5 Stars - Good, watch it. This movie is worth watching and you would watch it again spontaneously, but not too often. It's enjoyable despite some noticeably uninteresting parts, poor acting or plot holes. You would only recommend this to someone if they're really into the genre. 4 Stars - Normal-land good, watch it. This is the kind of movie that you could watch again several times, even though it is clearly not perfect. There are still some shortcomings in this film, but the rest is good enough to almost forget those. 4.5 Stars - Excellent, watch it. It's almost perfect. You remember film is an art medium. You could watch this movie again almost an unlimited number of times. It still has a shortcoming, so you don't give it an outright 10. You would recommend this movie to your friends even if you know they don't like the genre- maybe it could change their mind. 5 Stars - Perfect, watch it. If there's anything that is not perfect, it is greatly compensated for by something else that is stunningly brilliant or gripping. You would recommend this movie to everyone, even total strangers. Choirs and such.
