In a word...Excellent! Action sci-fi adventure amazingly adapted for the U.S. audience. Some of the cleanest action shots I've seen in a movie period! This is a must see on the big screen!
Sick and tired of these reboots and remakes! This is just more cash grabbing. Not to mention Michael B. Jordan plays the same character in every movie!
Once again this movie proves that the "Critics" are entirely disconnected with what actual audiences enjoy watching. The Certified Fresh rating means less and less each year. This movie was the most unique and exciting epic joy ride since Cameron's Avatar! Aquaman is a stunning visual adventure that takes you on an epic journey with interesting and loveable characters including the gorgeous set pieces. The villains in the movie are exciting and believable with honest motivations. Aquaman can be compared to many movies, Avatar, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, 2001 a Space Odyssey but not one of these movies have the diverse levels of adventure that we see in Aquaman! Way to go James Wan. Warner Bros needs to leave these directors alone and understand the audience is perfectly fine with movies longer than 2 hours.
Ok where to start. The movie completely disregards the entire story arc previously set up. The acting from most of the supporting cast was pathetic even Del Toro who is widely considered one of the greatest actors of our time. He reminded me of Daffy Duck pulling a heist. Domhall Gleeson was playing a roll in Monty Python and the Last Jedi. I was embarrassed for his performance. The writer couldn't figure out what to do with most of the characters so they just stayed in the same place the entire movie. Finn is still a Storm Trooper running away, Po is still trying to blow stuff up, and Rey is trying to find out who she is. Then all of sudden none of that matters because everything we learned was important in the previous movie was set up for nothing. The movie is silly, slapstick comedy that reminds me of 1950's animation with wacky characters doing wacky things all over the place and I'm supposed to take certain scenes serious when I just watched a 8 breasted opera singer that looks like something from who framed roger rabbit get run over by a giant horse looking thing while she bellows out. So many plot points are left unresolved, and arguably the biggest protagonist in Star Wars history is killed with little to no thought, like he never even mattered in the first place. Princess Leia flying through dead space like some kind of wizard was just ridiculous. Luke was a new hope, now he's a useless Dope! Everything that Star Wars has always been was undone in this movie. Mark Hamill was more Joker than Luke Skywalker. You can pretend all you want that people are just upset that the Skywalker story is ending, that's only a small portion of the complaints. Real movie fans went to see a Star Wars movie and we ended up with something along the lines of Tomorrowland meets Mickey mouse club house! Just look to the closing scene for the answer. Oh and I almost forgot to mention Kermit the Frog..er Yoda...
Where do I start? To call Spider-man homecoming Boring is a major understatement. This movie was maybe on par with a Disney channel made for T.V. movie with an extremely poorly put together story, some of the worst CGI I've seen in a long time for a large budget film, and a supporting cast that seemed more like they were there more as set pieces to remind the audience that the studio is "inclusive". The motivations made little to no sense, with a villain that goes from being an average everyday working guy to evil mad genius in 2 minutes, and just so happens to have a guy working for his construction company that can manipulate alien tech? What luck right? The setting was so bland I couldn't tell weather the movie was set in New York or some random city in Canada. Whereas in the previous incarnations of Spider-man on screen the city was a living breathing character, and now with how well the city of New York is being utilized in the Netflix Marvel series this movie just fell flat with using the setting that plays such a huge role in the characters history! The story was about nothing, and the most dangerous character in the story was Spider-man himself! No one was in danger until Spider-man showed up. The supporting characters were annoying, and some of them made the movie worse , 'cough' Xendaya 'cough'. I did not feel like I was watching a Marvel movie, I did not feel like I was watching a Spider-man movie. At the end of the movie I was glad it was over, I completely expected the set up for a squeal at the end of the movie and again it felt like a set up for a Disney channel straight to T.V. movie. I get the die hard Marvel fans will support anything Marvel releases and it will make money, I truly believe this movie made so much money because it appeals so much to families with small children. I would like for Sony to go back to making Spider-man films, they were not doing that bad of a job!
I wanted to love this movie. I wanted it to be great. Unfortunately I did not, and it was not. The story was rushed and the characters were not fleshed out at all. Once again the marketing department for this studio decided to give away all of the action scenes in the trailers. This movie is worth watching, on video, at home.
Excellent in a word! This movie has none of the boring horror movie tropes that you have come to expect from a lot non big budget horror movies. The character development was perfect and the twists and turns keep you guessing for the most part. 2016 has been good to us as far as great horror movies goes. This is a must see for any horror fan!
This is a great and interesting take on the horror/super natural genre. We get a family dynamic that is torn into pieces and I cared about each member of this family even the absent fathers. The antagonist was also terrifying and had interesting motives. I don't know if a sequel is needed and not sure how to continue this story, but I wouldn't mind venturing further into this world.
Hit all of the notes I needed it to, raunchy and hilarious! A little too raunchy at one point which is what I wanted!
Excellent action adventure movie, with just enough character development to make me care about the people I needed to care about. I can't wait to see more of these characters in the DCEU!
