Pretty much scene for scene as the original except in CGI. That being said, it was too focused on being realistic. It should have had more character development and theatrics. Some scenes felt rushed, such as the when Nala and Simba reunite, while others dragged on, such as the flying Simba ball of hair. Hopefully, Disney takes away from this and doesn't keep it too focused on realistic when it comes to The Little Mermaid, or we might end up with a realistic CGI Sebastian the crab with no personality—no magical element. Maybe CGI that's not 100% realistic looking. More animated features and expressions would have helped were my thoughts throughout the film. Don't even get me started on the weird neutrality of the CGI genderless bodies and the removal of Rafiki's red bottom. Again, Disney should have mixed realistic CGI with magical theatrics to captivate the audience and bring the film to life. Kinda felt like I was watching National Geographic with The Lion King soundtrack in the background. Overall, beautifully executed CGI, too rushed in moments that shouldn't have been, and lacked Disney's magical touch.
