Extremely genuine but laden with poor acting from its lead (and everyone except Liberato) and a very unevenly paced story.
Thoughtful and relatively well acted, See You Yesterday pains you with a protagonist you want to root for, but one that also offsets her genius with an abundance of stupid decisions that leaves you exhausted and shifty by the end.
While Centineo comes off as natural and shows some talent for this work, The Perfect Date is shallow and inconsequential. Aside from the lead, the performances are underwhelming.
While a tad slow-paced, The Highwaymen is a fairly engrossing film with a pair of leads that do a good acting job. I feel like the story could have had more bite, however.
