The Last Exorcism

While most movies that explore this concept are terrible these days, I was actually really frightened by this film. The only part I absolutely hate is the ridiculous ending. But still, this was so much better than The Rite and The Devil Inside, for fuck's sake.

½

I know it's a classic, and I hate to be unappreciative towards older (more original) movies. But I just found this very slow, and at times a little stupid. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually enjoyed Disturbia much more. The last forty minutes of the film were pretty suspenseful, but all the rest felt more like a bored attempt at writing romantic comedy.

Kind of long, but Braveheart is still a very good movie. Personally, I think the first hour is the best part of the film, but the ending is very powerful, as well. Plus its got a great soundtrack by James Horner.

Even considering its few minor flaws, this is and always will be a great movie.

The acknowledged hipster in me never planned on watching this movie. But having now watched it, what can I say? I fell for it ... I thought it was awesome ... and now I'm gonna read the books.
