The film manages to be enhanced rather than held back by its gimmicks through great atmospheric direction, strong performances, and a surprisingl resonant emotional core strengthened by timely themes. The third act, however, seems to be ripped out of a typical cop serial that seems very at odds with the tone and mood of the rest of the film that screams of a rewrite.
Satisfying and even a bit heartbreaking, but also seems a bit afraid to be as edgy as it could be. A strong debut from Chaganty and the always under appreciated Cho round out a unambiguously solid if unambiguously flawed film.
