Despite being an almost shot for shot remake, this new version of the Lion King lacks everything that made the original an instant classic. Yes, the photo-realistic CGI is amazing. Keeping James Earl Jones as Mufasa was an excellent choice. Most of the actors were good choices for their characters, but not all. However, it all falls a bit flat and is a pale imitation of the original.
I am very late giving this review, but this is an absolutely great movie. In the grand scheme of things, Infinity War was a better movie. And, while there were a couple of cringeworthy moments that will take you out of the story momentarily, they are easily overlooked and a satisfying end to several story arcs.
Far from Home is a solid Spider-Man and Marvel movie. While it does stand well on its own, it also works well as a transition from Avengers: Endgame to the next phase of Marvel movies.
If you are a fan of Marvel movies, Captain Marvel will leave you very disappointed. This movie goes out of its way to destroy the history created within the MCE to shoehorn Captain Marvel into it. I can only image how this will negatively impact Avengers: Endgame. But, if Captain Marvel is what we can expect from the MCU going forward, then I am done going to the theater to see Marvel movies.
I was skeptical of a Venom separate from Spiderman but I loved it.
