The Birds(1963)

Hitchcock does it again in this suspenseful film about deadly birds. First I would love to say that the character development leading up to the bird attacks was done really well. The story doesn't just start with the attacks but gradually gets there. This is a unique and altogether fascinating plot!

The Birds is just as good the second time. What makes this film so clever to me is that it seems that its focus is on the birds and the terror that they induce but I found that the story is really about is really about Melanie and her relationships with Mitch and even more so with Lydia. Lydia and Melanie both are changed by this odd bird situation. I feel like Hitchcock just uses the birds as a ploy to catch our interest but actually he is tricking us throughout the entire film. I love it, I love it, I love it! The Birds is classic from the great master of suspense.

*Plus Rod Taylor is a stud muffin!
