Dylan's Review of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
A solid decent film....but not a masterpiece to any extent. Some of the jokes worked well and had me laughing while others fell flat...some very flat. I don't like to make a fuss about "plot holes" in comedies but this one had some parts that just didn't work out in terms of the story. I thought Steve Carell was good. Not at his funniest but certainly a funny character. It was good to see Jim Carrey in a non family movie for once. He was a wacko but not as as wacko as he can be. The story has certainly been seen before. Talladega Nights and Anchorman untilized the same exact story line with different actors and situations. This story line is seen too often in comedies so when I see one with the storyline it needs to have some really funny jokes to get by without any criticism. This one had some funny jokes but not any laugh out loud jokes with the mainstream predictable story line so it ends up with a 60. So overall, not a bad movie to watch has some good laughs but certainly don't expect a classic.
