I love this movie, everything about it from the southern fried voodoo to the devil aka louis cyphre aka robert deniro to the beautiful lisa bonet aka Denise Huxtable (one of my first childhoood celebrity crushes) angel heart builds tension throughout and doesnt dissapoint with the twist ending. This film has aged very well and is as good in 2019 as it was in 87 when it came out.
Another example of how full of s#*% the "critics" really are this is a great movie i suppose if you dont like chris farleys brand of commedy you might not enjoy this but if you grew up in the 90s and can laugh at things without pretending to be offended or acting as if its beneath you, (cough cough "critics" then this is a classic farley comedy
This movie is not that bad and it wasnt meant to be scary well at least i dont think it was it seems to make fun of the original as much as continue it if your looking to be scared unless your 12 or 13 prolly aint gona happen that said its got good cinamatography decent acting decent soundtrack and good ending
I loved this movie. Some may some may not its a certain taste for sure if you dont like period horror/folk tales you may not it reminds me of brothers grim and sleepy hollow which i also really liked. The cinamatography and atmosphere are beautiful some may say the demons look cheesy or silly but they are based on medievel drawlings, paintings, and woodcuts (many of which i have) and the demon names and ranks are also "real" or at least based on what was written in that period again all of which i find completly fascinating so maybe im baised but i love this errementari the blacksmith and the devil and have watched it more then once and not yet come close to being board with it
This movie is raw straight up. From the opening scene throug to the end this is one of the most realist movies iv ever seen this is white trash version of snow on the bluff. The characters dont seem like actors they play there roles perfectly the drunk pos dad the kid with a heart of gold even cage as a grisled ex con whos employs a team of hard luck country boys.iv worked with a team just like these cats and theyre spot on. Love everything about this movie and recomend it to anyone who enjpys seeing the nitty gritty side of life
