It's saving private Ryan with 4 fewer brothers and trench warfare. So yeah, it was pretty great. They'll probably give it an Oscar for the long-shot style filming. Honestly, it was well deserved because them shots looked hard to make and act.
I would spoil key plot points to tell you exactly what I hated about this film. There were also great parts too. Let's just say there were multiple moments that I thought, "I hope Darth JarJar shows up because that would save this scene". For any Star Wars fan this is another Star Wars movie. For a casual Star Wars fan do yourself a favor and watch all the other movies first. Which of course is the point. The movie could not stand on its own if it tried. But in context with the rest of the franchise it was fascinating and satisfying to see to the end.
