Tomorrowland (2015)

I really wanted to dislike this film for some reason, not sure if because it was Disney or had Clooney starring in the film. Maybe it was the child in me, but I enjoyed. Just sit back and let your inner child take over and enjoy this visually stunning film. Yes the story line isn't perfect, but you can't help but smile at the ending. If you don't smile, then like the Grinch, your heart is too small ;-)

Out in the Dark

A powerful tragic love story between an Israeli and Palestinian set against the politics and religion of the Middle East. It makes you appreciate how lucky we have it in the West and what challenges and horrors face the LGBT in some countries

The Good Earth

While a great black and white epic production, it's hard to get past the caucasians playing asians. All the major roles are played by caucasians and for me just weren't believable. I guess it's more a look at what Hollywood and society was like in general in the 1930's, that asian roles went to white actors and no one thought there was anything wrong with it.

Ex Machina

A smart, beautifully filmed movie. It's a simple story, but very powerful in what it's trying to tell us. The story revolves around Ava, an A.I. that it's creator Nathan wants to prove it's intelligence and emotional capabilities. Enter Caleb who wins a competition, which turns out he is a part of the experiment also....

The Maze Runner

Having read all the books in the series, I of course knew what The Maze was and what awaits them outside. I must say I enjoyed the books more, but the movie did a fairly good job. Nothing outstanding or even great about the performances or the film itself, just a good film.
