This is a GREAT film from 1991 and co-written by Billy Bob Thornton. Bill Paxton puts in one of his finest acting performances of his very memorable career. Carl Franklin...man! why did this guy only make a few movies? He is a really good director. This movie starts off very violent and kept me enthralled the whole time. Check this one out if you are looking for something a little different.
A really solid Police Drama from the 1990's. This might be one of Stallone's best performances to date. It starts off really good, but it kind of rushes the end. I wish they could have maybe slowed the ending down and it might have come out as an all time classic movie. Harvey Keitel and Robert De Niro do a nice job with there characters. Michael Rapaport is actually pretty good and it's nice to see him as an actor instead of some 2 bit personality as he is on the Howard Stern show and other SiriusXM shows.
Cronenberg fans will love this film. People who don't know Cronenberg will probably hate it. I'm somewhere in the middle. It is a pretty inventive film that was ahead of its time. It is definitely a cult classic that features a very young Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jude Law. It has some cool special effects for what is a relatively low budget film. I just feel that it's missing something. If you want to see something a little different then check out this film.
An Interestingly okay Horror/Gore film. It stars a young Bradley Cooper (2008). It definitely has plenty of gore for those that like it. It is NOT very scary, but it made me turn my head a couple times due to mutilation of bodies. It has a nice surprise twist of an ending, but ultimately was just okay for me.
What an amazing performance from Dexter Gordon. He was nominated for Best Actor in 1987. Any fan of Jazz music should appreciate the nice story and great soundtrack. The story is a little slow and simple, but the music kept me going.
