This was pretty good. I almost bailed on it after the first few episodes, but I'm glad that I stuck with it. It gets really good after the first 4 episodes. Hopefully, there will be a second season.
Pretty good Amazon Original Show. Mireille Enos really stands out with her performance. Joel Kinnaman does a pretty good job as well. This show has some great action scenes, but then almost comes to a crawl in some spots. Watching paint dry might be more exciting. Maybe season two can get Hanna back to more ass kicking.
This show starts of Very Solid, but then starts to fizzle around episode 8. Ellen Page is terribly miscast as Vanya. But then again, she is a average actress that continues to get lead roles because she was in Juno (which came out in 2007). STOP giving her lead roles, she is a character actress with limited acting ability. Now back to the actual show...it's a cross between the X-Men and Watchmen. There are some good moments, but mostly average moments. Cameron Britton as Hazel shines in his role as a time traveling assassin along with Mary J. Blige. Robert Sheehan as Klaus provides some decent comedy relief. The series has a cliff hanger type ending. Hopefully, they come back a lot stronger with season 2.
What started off as a GREAT season of True Detective ended falling FLAT on its face during the last 2 episodes. The ending was AWFUL and I felt cheated as a viewer. Very disappointed with the last episode. The first half of the season was AWESOME! both Ali and Dorff hit Home Runs as the Detectives and I think the Dorff probably out did Ali in the acting department.
WOW! The negative reviews by the critics is pretty harsh. This isn't anything ground breaking, but still a pretty well made docu-series about one of the most infamous Serial Killers of our time. It gives a good look into the mind of complete lunatic that used his good looks and charm to kill 30 women.
Decent 2nd Season and follow up to the GREAT season 1 of The Punisher. I loved how it started out, but then it took the foot off the gas when they returned to NYC. The Jigsaw villain was poorly executed. I'm sure this will end up getting cancelled due to the pending Disney contract expiring. Jon Bernthal is really just okay as Frank Castle. Way too much grunting and moaning for me. The action scenes are ROCK solid and violent.
Very Good Docu-Series that was shot over 15+ years. I'm not sure if Michael Peterson is Innocent or Guilty, but I can tell you this is a powerful story. It shows you how flawed the judicial system can be and how the NC SBI ultimately dropped the ball with this case. It also does a great job just showing how people age over a 15 year period. He ages quite a lot due to the stress of everything and then his kids started the series in their late teens/early 20's and then are close to their mid-30s bye the end of the docu-series. It also tells a story of a man who is gay and during different times would never probably have even married a woman. I'm amazed at how much footage the filmmakers shot. It is definitely a long story, but does have a satisfying conclusion. Also, living in the Durham area it is amazing at how much Durham has changed over the course of 15 years, especially to the Downtown area. The one thing I really didn't care for was the over the top dramatic music score. It was was too loud and over powering at times.
Nice little Docuseries about the illegal turned legal Marijuana business of Humboldt County in Northern California. There are a couple stories going on at the same time. It jumps from 2014 to 2018. The problem with the story is there is "the alleged killer" of Garret Rodriguez that they never actually name. I liked this series, but it's not breaking any new ground in the true crime documentary world. Plus, there are some stories going on that are just boring or silly (i.e. the Dookie Bros. and the guy with that wants to be an outlaw). I don't see them making a 2nd season on this average at best docuseries. Then there is the piece about the Alderpoint 8 like they are the Magnificent Seven. It's worth a watch, but don't expect to be blown away like other Netflix series.
Tracy Morgan makes this okay show funny. The premise is pretty funny. Guy gets put away for 15 years, comes back to see his neighborhood has been a victim of gentrification and to top that off his ex-girlfriend is married to a white guy. It gets serious at times, but there are some good laughs. I will definitely check out season 2 when it comes out.
Part 6 of the Ranch is really bad. Danny Masterson leaving the show abruptly and them essentially writing off his character has ruined the show. Part 6 gets way to serious and Dax Shepard coming onto the show just doesn't work. This show has run it's course and they need to put it out of it's misery. Very few laughs and way too much of a serious tone is enough for me to call it quits on this once really good show. Sam Elliot is probably the only saving grace to this season.
I agree with Tommy below. Each episode is painfully boring. The first 3 episodes (Ralphie, Pizza Boy and the Knockadoo) were okay, but then it gets really bad after that. It's almost like every episode you are watching a new coat of paint dry on this boring ass hotel room. I kept saying "It's going to get better", but I finally threw in the towel after episode 9. If you want to make 30 minutes feel like 90 minutes...then watch this show. Unbelievable this got a 2nd season because there is NO way I will even think about watching it. ZZZ!
this season the show takes a step back in quality. The story is all over the place and I really didn't care for Jessica Lange as the German ring leader. It was like she was trying to recreate Madeline Kahn's character from Blazing Saddles.
Good Show with a solid second season. I actually enjoyed the first season a little more. They added a couple more characters to the story and I'm not sure if the Nick Frost character works. Are we really supposed to believe he is a bad ass at Kung Fu? I do look forward to season 3. Marton Csokas as Quinn is a great villain and my favorite part of the show.
The third season is just okay in my opinion. Like the previous 2 seasons, it starts off great, but then kind of falls apart at the end. Kathy Bates does a nice job with her character.
This show has had two great seasons and then follows it up with this Excellent third season! Daredevil is so much better then the other 3 Netflix shows and The Defenders. Vincent D'Onofrio is the reason this show is so amazing. He should definitely be up for an Emmy on his performance as Wilson Fisk. Adding a new villain is also a nice surprise. Charlie Cox does a nice job with playing Matt Murdock. Hopefully, we get one more season out of This great Netflix series.
This season started off great! Great performances by the entire cast with James Cromwell's performance really standing out as the evil doctor. By the end of the season it got a little out there tried to wrap everything up. It got a little silly form me. I still enjoyed this season, but was looking for a better finale.
Amazing show that I finally got around to watching over the past 4 months. Season 6 wraps up most of the story lines. This show will go down as an all time great and one of the main shows that helped launch this Golden age of Television that we are living in right now!
I'm finally getting around to watching this popular TV Series. Season one was decent, but got kind of silly towards the end. It goes from Horror to Drama to Comedy in almost every episode. I do like how they recycle cast members each season to tell a new story.
This show starts up pretty good and genuinely creepy. As it goes on the show gets a little more silly and far fetched. I still don't know how the critic consensus says "as its chilling payoff". I felt there was NO chilling payoff, just an empty feeling from how it got off the tracks. I did like this show because I did have the chills throughout most of the episodes, I just felt the last couple episodes weren't as satisfying as it should've been. Hopefully, season 2 will answer more questions.
This show Falls apart in season 2. The first season was far fetched and this one goes way beyond that. Its become a Big mess of Way to many things happening. HopefullY, season 3 can get this show back on track. Jason bateman is really overRated as an actor and season 2 really shows on limited his acting ability is. All of the charaters on this show are really not likable.
