Solaris(1976)

Solyaris (Solaris) is a fascinating film by director Andrei Tarkovsky, being full of interesting ideas and concepts. It is a science fiction movie that focuses on the human condition and its limitations, also dealing with the subconscious. There are several beautifully shot sequences, including the remarkable ending which can be open for various interpretations. It reminded me a bit of Inception, since both films raise questions about how reality is perceived as well as the embodiment of dreams and the study of the human subconscious.

The movie can be quite slow at times, but I didn't really mind that because it never ceased to be intriguing and engaging. Solaris demands the viewer's full attention to details due to its complex and thought-provoking story, which can become a difficult watch for those who are more used to fast paced and action packed sci-fi films. In conclusion, Solaris is a brilliant work from Tarkovsky, being a very rewarding and unforgettable experience.
