Bruno 's Review of Zero Dark Thirty
Zero Dark Thirty(2013)
Zero Dark Thirty is about the manhunt for Osama Bin Laden and it focuses on all the efforts made by CIA members that lead to the killing of the world's most wanted terrorist. The pacing of the film is uneven, with its first portion demonstrating how the operatives used torture in order to get tips and more information about who was involved with the Al-Qaeda organization. I thought this part dragged a bit and it wasn't particularly interesting, even though it was essential to the story.
The final chapter is all about capturing and killing Bin Laden, being the climax of the film. While it was quite suspenseful, I also felt it was way too long and lacked a bit of intensity. Jessica Chastain really stole the show as Maya, the CIA analyst who is completely devoted to her job, deserving the Oscar nomination in my opinion. Overall, Zero Dark Thirty is an exciting and intriguing thriller, with a remarkable performance by its lead actress and it's not to be missed.
