Simon Killer
Simon Killer(2013)

Solid flick, but they needed to flesh out the protagonist a bit more, by the end of the film you don't care too much about him.

Upstream Color

A very strange and surreal experience, the sort of movie you would understand better on LSD.

Silent Hill: Revelation

Not as horrible as everyone has made it out to be, but certainly not as good as the first. The plot gets pretty confusing about halfway through, but the action/gore is good enough to keep one entertained.

Ok disaster flick with an awesome ending, but not as brutal as i expected.

Blue Valentine

Somber and well done drama, def worth a look if you like the trailer.

Star Trek Into Darkness

Very good movie with solid action and acting, but the script/dialogue leave a lot to be desired.

Insidious: Chapter 2

A mediocre sequel that ends up feeling like a cheap joke. This will be the last horror film I see in theaters for some time, and it didn't help I had the awful taste of you're next in my mouth within 2 weeks of seeing this....avoid it.

Matchstick Men

Great movie and it was entertaining to see how the movie played out, and had some really complex characters

The Place Beyond The Pines

A solid drama with a great story and charismatic actors. A bit long, but if you get caught up in it the movies passes you by before you know it

Super brutal but well realized sequel that ends up being better and more consistent than the first. A must watch for horror buffs for the zombie scene alone.

A Horrible Way to Die

Mediocre thriller with a nice twist at the end. Better than wingards' latest try, you're next

Gangster Squad

Really underrated action flick that proved to be simple, satisfying, and slick.

Above average horror flick that starts out well but really sputters out towards the end

Silver Linings Playbook

Great movie, fantastic characters. A great watch

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Extremely disappointing and not very interesting to watch. Doesn't live up to the hype at all

The Conjuring

Great, creepy movie that stayed with me after I saw it. Cant wait for insidious part 2!!

Man of Steel
Man of Steel(2013)

Fantastic superhero movie. One of the best i have seen.

Stir of Echoes

Pretty good little thriller

Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3(2013)

Total letdown, I cant believe this was worse than the second one. Too many long drawn sequences and a super dissaointing villain made this movie hard to watch alone. Its like the Iron Man series is trying to be like the Dark knight series. Not fun at all, only a handful of ok action scenes. A tedious chore at best.

Ghost World
Ghost World(2001)

Overall a really disappointing film. I came for Buscemi's performance, and he did well. There were some charmingh moments, but overall Its hard for me to like a movie when I deeply hate the main character. Sure it symbolizes humanity and that we are all flawed, but we do have choices that define us. The characters in this movie came off as childish and straight up mean, common traits for high school girls(lol)

The ending I thought was a letdown as well, and I came away from this movie with a very average feeling. Its got a few charming/funny moments, and Buscemi does well, but thats about it.

Evil Dead
Evil Dead(2013)

This movie definitely does not live up to the hype that came before it. It is what i call a "checklist" movie. You see many of these nowadays. Its a movie that seems to have been written by a list of things a movie should have.

Evil dead had good blood & gore, some creepy moments, and decent acting. Unfortunately, that about sums up the movie. There were many points in which my friend and i were laughing at parts which were not meant to be laughed at, and the end really sputtered out into the irrational. Some of the things the characters do in this movie are just dumb horror cliches that we have seen many times before. Im interested when this comes out on blu ray to watch the uncut version, but as it stands, its a mediocre slasher flick.
