Simply a fun monster flick nothing more or less it's centred upon a group of scientists that wana explore an uncharted island of the Pacific this leads them in to the Home of kong and as soon they get their all hell breaks looks with several creepy ass monsters
And the rest of the movie focused on them getting out the cast is clearly having fun and it's visually decent over all it's your average monster flick but it's a well made and a fun one for sure
Ok so this is one of the rare occasions I had a read of the sores material before watching the adaption I personally just like to watch them and if I like at least the concept I'll go read the material I do this because I fell like if I read the material first I set my expectations to high or expect this level of commitment In the writing ✍️
So now that I've got that out the way let's discuss bat man the killing joke 2016 animated film adaption taken from the 98 comic of the same name Plot
As Batman hunts for the escaped Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime attacks the Gordon family to prove a diabolical point mirroring his own fall into madness.
This film is average it's not great but its certainly not awful as some claim it has Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill returning to their iconic roles it's also visually pretty good like riped out of the comic unlike the comic this movie has a whole arc from the perspective of barbra Gordon AKA bargirl don't tell her dad 🤫
This arc in a nut shell focuses on events that lead her to retiring as bat girl which take place not long before the events of killing joke this arc was just ok it does fell a bit dragged out and a bit to ambitious like it could of just been a solo bat girl film if given a bit more plot and had less batman
involved o yea and there's a cringe sex scene between batgirl and batman I know weird but it last less than a minute
Anyway after this arc concludes with Barbra quitting as batgirl we step in to the events of the killing joke and the film is simply way better once it kicks of some of the dialogue is the same it's also much grittyer than your average batman animated film normally is
It doesn't beat around the bush or do anything else it sticks to the pages and is more or less shot for shot of the comic with great voice acting and it's a visually pleasing Experience it was nice to get a story in which joker becomes relatable to when he found out his wife died I felt for him and how he was just forced in to madnes
Overall it's a pretty enjoyable batman movie I mean the Barbra arc can drag and fell kinda Unnecessary but I get why they did it the comic of which it's based on is very short as amazing as it is and it wouldn't hit the length it is it would just make for the length of the batman animated series and this plot doesn't exactly fit in to the average Saturday morning cartoon and it does have its merits but the second half is amazing I think it's better than given credit for
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
Ok so let's get this started I'm going to be up front with you all this was one of my most anticipated movies of the year as I enjoyed the last two yes I enjoyed the last Jedi unlike a lot of other people.
I thought it was a interesting direction and cinematically Beautiful like force awakens however I am extremely mixed on this movie there was a lot I liked and a lot I didn't
I'll start with the positive great performances all around the film is shot and effects and are all beautiful and the story has some good elements like theirs a scene in which force healing is used to heal a light saber wound and there's a scene where ray is seeing something and here's the voice of all the Jedi and the light sabre battles are outstanding
Amongst many other cool things like mental force battles the films comes across to me as somewhat satisfying and other parts of it not so much
The film kinda drags itself out in places what I assumed would be an epic end light sabre battle was not and much shorter than I expected.
The emperors return was not as explained as I would like as good as it was To see one of the most iconic characters back I expected more behind it some characters conclusion like huxnfelt so rushed to get it over with.
Over all it's a well made film with great performances Battles and effects and maybe would of worked somewhat better as a second part to a middle instalment If you take away the last half hour as opposed to the final of a saga consisting of 8 main films and 2 spin offs
Now it's not secret Star Wars has a ridiculous toxic fan base that never seem to be satisfied and that made its way in to this movie
it's fells more like a fan made thing as opposed doing it's own thing fans were annoyed to hell by how similar the force awakens was to a new hope and hated rains direction because it didn't meet their fan theory's of finding out who rays parents were amongs other things or some that liked the idea of Raylo and or kylo redemption
this film drivers on those front so much so it's nothing but a fan service conclusion however they stil leaves me with no doubt that fans will stil complain about something I simply expected a lot more as a final entry
As I'm sure you Already know this film is a remake of the Disney original animated one many decades ago now I've not watched that in more than a few years so I got to go on with somewhat fresh eyes and the movie is no masterpiece
it has slow development and pacing and it takes forever for anything to happen and is by far from burton finest work but it' is kinda what it originally was supposed to be a family friendly story with heart and this film has that and lesser demanding viewers along with those that can watch a film with out the obvious comparison may enjoy them selfs the visuals ain't to bad either
Avengers end game picks up right after infinity war and deals with the fall out and makes the. Characters more humanised than ever and it's ultimately a satisfying conclusion to its 10 year arc all the characters that either were not in infinity war or had little screen time are fairly front and centre this time the cast is brilliant as always there may not be as much action until the last half hour but that's not necessarily a bad thing it allows us to really sympathie with the character ultimately to wrap this up just good job all around it's funny sad satisfying and fun
