I was embarrassed to be sitting in that theater and watch actors deliver such terrible lines as, "Stay evil, honey."
One the most childishly written movies I've ever seen. I'm not even talking about the plot (what plot?). The characters say the cringe-iest things. I honestly wondered aloud if David Ayer didn't ask the neighbor kid to do his screenwriting homework, it was so bad. Reports that the movie was cut down to size and reshot were not required to be clearly evident, as characters contradict themselves from one scene to the next. Characters say stupid things and do stupid things and the audience is expected to think it's heavy or cool.
The last words of the main a villain, a 6000 year old witch, who spent the entire movie speaking cryptically or not at all, are "you don't have the balls!" It was not cool. It was not ironic, and it was not intended to be. It was just dumb.
All related stupidity was aldo evident in how they crammed melodramatic intros to every character in the space of 15 minutes, and it was the longest 15 minutes of my life...until the 5 minutes they later spent telling the backstory of a samurai-themed superheroine who came out of nowhere, did nothing interesting the entire movie, and spoke only in Japanese. It was like a South Park send-up episode, where another stupid convolution had to be explained every 10 minutes.

Here's hoping David Ayer quits screenwriting forever.

You'll like it, great ending. It gets stupid at one point, but it's forgivable by the time the show's over and you ask yourself, "was it worth my time?"

It will be.
