Waste of lighting-fell asleep
Disappointing, over long with very little dramatic tension or insight into Turner the painter.
I hated this film. Mcqueen not only fails to recognise that he has remade a film that was originally made in 1984 but his dwelling on the violence, almost lovingly is almost pornogrphic. It is shocking and I was glad when the end came and unlike most people didn't think it was that well acted- Wolf of Wall St and Blue Jasmin were much better films. It also allowed Hollywood to ignore Mandela, a better but not perfect film but of course probably too political of which is something that McQueen's film could never be accused
