Movie Ratings and Reviews

Man on Fire
Man on Fire(2004)
½

Washington at his best here giving another powerhouse performance and showing his action chops.

Marvel's The Avengers
½

Great action, effects, characters, chemistry, acting, and that feeling "this is epic".

X-Men: Days of Future Past
½

With top notch performances from McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence, Jackman, and Stewart; along with a great script, fantastic visual effects, emotion to spare, and amazing action to boot, X-Men: Days of Future Past is easily in the top three greatest comic book films of all time, possibly second right behind the legendary "The Dark Knight".

Guardians of the Galaxy
½

Turned out amazing. Cast was fantastic, action was amazing, the effects spectacular(especially for Groot and Rocket), and just flat out hilarious throughout. Honestly, it is easily one of the most fun and exciting films I have ever seen. I thought Days of Future Past was not gonna be beat this year; well, I was wrong.

Lucy
Lucy(2014)

To short, and could have been better in a lot of places. ScarJo, is fantastic tho. Like amazing.

Maleficent
Maleficent(2014)

Ehh, Jolie and Fanning are great.

Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow

Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt are great and have hood chemistry. Blunt is also a badass and believable. I predict she is gonna be big now after this film. Maybe casted as the first big Woman Superhero besides Gadot as Wonder Woman. Maybe she can be Ms.Marvel in the MCU.

Changeling
Changeling(2008)

With, what is in my opinion one of the best female performances of the decade, Angellina Jolie takes Changeling by storm and makes it one compelling film.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The cast is once again phenomenal and shows that for these movies the cast needs to work just like they did for the Harry Potter series. Lawrence is outstanding, as well as other returning members. Hoffman is a spectacular new addition as well. Its thrilling, supremely acted, tauntingly paced, and absolutely riveting. Bring on the next chapter, and the true start to the revolution.

One of the best lines in the movie, delivered with excellence:

President Snow: "You fought very hard in the Games, Miss Everdeen. But they were games. Would you like to be in a real war? Imagine thousands of your people, dead. Your loved ones, gone."

Captain America: The Winter Soldier
½

With great performances, amazing action, suspense galore, and twist at every turn Captain America: The Winter Soldier is arguably one of the best Marvel films yet, better than Iron Man and about almost equal to The Avengers.

Divergent
Divergent(2014)
½

I enjoyed this book greatly. Sure it has some similar themes to The Hunger Games but its not a rip off imho. In this movie their split by their actual personality and live the way there personality is...like honesty, smartness etc. Its not the same as Hunger Games at all actually. Kids to go in a ring and battle each other etc.

The Punisher
The Punisher(2004)

Underrated. That's for sure. Jane is fantastic in the lead role, Travolta is great; heck the whole cast is great. Obviously a lot could have been done to make it better, this came out the wrong time though where hero movies were not dark/gritty yet. If released now, with some more focus this would be rated a lot higher...in the low to high 60s.

Gravity
Gravity(2013)

Its a great film effects wise and Bullock gives a good performance(nothing outstanding though). Honestly....overrated imo.

Lone Survivor
½

A powerhouse film with outstanding performances and real emotion. Showing all types of patriotism, brotherhood, and sacrafice as well as horrifying and entertaining action scenes Lone Survivor is a great start to the year and easily one of the best movies I have ever seen in Janauary in my entire life.

The Wolf of Wall Street

Leo gives arguably the best performance of his career and honestly, he should get the Oscar gold this year over Ejiofor and McConaughey. Hill will get nominated to.

Thor: The Dark World

Best superhero/comic book movie of the year. Great action, effects, characters and acting by all is great. Also way better than the first. Very funny as well, just a very entertaining movie in general with two great after credits scenes. Stay and watch both for sure.

The Last Airbender

The show was arguably the greatest animation TV series of all time...and this movie was one of the worst movies of all time. So very dissapointing. Why M. Night? Why? Why so awful?

12 Years a Slave

One of the best films of the 21st century thus far. You could argue it is the best film of the 21st century so far actually. The only other films that come close with the status of masterpiece are The Departed, The Dark Knight, and The Social Network. This film honestly might be better than all three in terms of the pure power of cinema.

I expect nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, and Best Original Score.

Ender's Game
Ender's Game(2013)
½

Fun film with some solid acting by Butterfield, Ford, and Steinfeld.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
½

First time I saw it I thought it was just a good film. After seeing it again for a second time...wow amazing film. Acting by the three leads truly is phenomenal. Will be a classic in years to come. The story is also extremely engaging and heartbreaking.

A Dangerous Method

Fantatsic performances by the three leads elevate this film; and I mean fantastic.

Rush
Rush(2013)
½

This movie should be nominated for Best Picture. And Bruhl should be nominated for Supporting. If the race wasn't so crowded this year Hemworth ciuld have been nominated to. With great race sequences, powerful performances, and a fantastic finale/ending Rush is the best film of 2013 so far for me.

Ruby Sparks
Ruby Sparks(2012)
½

Very strange and original movie for a rom-com. Great acting across the boards as well.

Wreck-it Ralph

Very fun movie, with a great premise and story.

Shame
Shame(2011)
½

Incredible performances by Fassbender and Mulligan. Especially Fassbender. Very shocking and intense at times. But, honestly some parts were just to awkward or weird for my taste.

The Family
The Family(2013)

Great cast but terrible execution with a lousy script and almost no story really. Like I feel like nothing happens. Even by the end of it. Very dissapointing bad film.

Riddick
Riddick(2013)

Very solid. Diesel inhabits the role perfectly once again and new players like Sackhoff, Molla, and Bautista were fun(Sackhoff being the best). Great action and effects. Problem is I feel the whole story almost a repeat, I really hope we see Sackhoff in thr next one if there is a next one.

Star Trek Into Darkness
½

An amazing cast already gets bigger with a powerhouse performance by Benedict Cumberbatch. With an interesting story line, great effects, and engaging action this sequel almost, and arguably in some ways does, surpass the first.

The Help
The Help(2011)

Absolutley phenomenal performances by Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Man of Steel
Man of Steel(2013)
½

A great cast, amazing action, and spectacular effects are what make this film good. With a better script it could have been great. Hopefully the upcoming Superman/Batman film improves upon this solid first installment. I just hope Bale is returning as Batman. Please.

Mud
Mud(2013)

Phenomenal performances by McConaughey and Sheridan.

I Love You Beth Cooper
½

Those Stars are all for Hayden Panettiere who is one of the most beautiful woman in the entire world, and if it wasn't for her this movie would be like 1 star.
