Lots of torture, suffering, test of faith. Ok movie. Serious, not quite an epic. Definitely for a mature audience.

Arrival (2016)

Sleepy, slow moving movie. Basically the whole movie is about governments all over the world trying to communicate with aliens, The USA hires a linguist who deciphers their way of communicating and saves the world by preventing China from going to war with the Aliens. Her ability to see the future comes to play here. She has constant flashbacks about her daughter. This part doesn't seem to correlate with the Alien situation, but does with her male counterpart who in the end she falls in love with. In the end the movie is frustrating as we never find out why the aliens visited the earth in the first place. It appears they did for this one woman, to give her an epiphany.

Not Private Ryan, but pretty good. The height of the movie was at the end, when he saves many lives. The acting is good, and the fighting scenes also.

Split (2017)

The actor McAvoy was very good. In fact he should be nominated for an Oscar. The story was pretty good as well. Just a good scary movie about weird personality changes.

Good from the beginning to the end. Fast, detailed, with great true to life scenes. This one is worth it. No deep character development. But hey, there is a lot to cover in two hours.
