Arrival (2016)

Somber, melancholic and absorbing. From the dark tones on screen to the music score, this movie is mesmerizing and thought provoking but, will it be commercial? Some of the screening attendees were disappointed because, as many people do, went in with no idea of what they were about to see and expected another "space invasion" spectacular. They found it long and were disappointed.

Keeping Up With The Joneses

Only interesting thing about this movie is the chance to see two gorgeous people for and hour and a half

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

It is always great to watch Tom Cruise as he puts a lot of intensity in his roles, but this franchise does not take hold of the audience, you can watch it, munching popcorn, and not really get engaged in this person, and his problems. The plot is thin and the action predictable. Too bad.

The Light Between Oceans

A moving tale based on a great book and artfully acted by two great actors. Vikander, specially, should be nominated as this piece shows her talent WAY better than "The Danish Girl" did. The mood of the film is well set, specially by Desplat's music score (the photography wasn't my favorite and I'm left wondering what Lubezky would have done for this stunning location). It can be said that the story became "draggy" towards the end but at that point we were so invested in those characters that we went along, hankies in hand, to its conclusion. The screening crowd gave it a well deserved round of applause

Pierce, Pierce... the people that dragged you into this one should've seen either the Bond latest movies, or the Bourne excellent franchise... and please note that when a human skull meets an accelerating metal pipe, the result is probably deadly or, to say the least, the concussion would render the recipient inactive for, hmm, 1 day?
