Evan's Review of The Guilt Trip
The Guilt Trip(2012)
I know a lot of people didn't enjoy The Guilt Trip. I looked up online and I found out that it received OKAY reviews. It's hard to deny that the movie is unevenly paced and quite slow. The dialogue is quite often mashed together with multiple characters talking at the same time so it's hard to get any good laughs in. As for the leading actors, Barbra Streisand for the first half of the film is about as annoying as annoying gets and Seth Rogen doesn't exactly meet his standards as a comedian. The film does have its moments though. There are some good laughs throughout the film that you certainly will be able to notice. The story is easy enough to follow and the acting is very good. Beneath it all the best thing The Guilt Trip offers are the positive messages that all family members will be able to learn from. If your family doesn't get along then this predictable but light-hearted film is perfect for the occasion.
