This movie took me a little while to warm up to but only because I've been watching Supergirl lately which has a ton of special effects and aliens. You won't find either here. What you will find is an endearing drama about the value of life with just enough drug lords and cops to keep it really entertaining. Plenty of Clint Eastwood style comedy, delivered in a very mature and age appropriate way, mixed with Clint Eastwood style honesty produces an excellent movie that I'm sure Eastwood himself is very proud of. Spoiler Alert: He doesn't pull out any big guns in this movie, but his heart and bravery will bring a tear to your eye.
Better than expected. Tommy was able to capture the pain and suffering that young spirits who have too much money go through in love and life. This movie leaves off where life starts. Heart break is just the beginning.
Ok, so I must admit that I missed some of the hand to hand combat that was so well exemplified in, for example, Captain America. Also I found there to be something almost anorexic about the heroines in this one. JLaw is known for her shapely booty, but in this movie she had that almost too skinny look. I'm not quite sure what was going on with this?! Other than these two over-sights I thought the movie was good, entertaining, creative, and exciting.
This was a solid 4 stars. Creative, out of the ordinary, compelling, interesting, and suspenseful. We could definitely use a follow up to this one!
This is the type of sci-fi psycho drama that sets the standards. inventive, exciting, interesting, inspiring... It really doesn't get any better. High Art! Bravo!
