2 Guns
2 Guns(2013)

Another great Mark Wahlberg movie. It loses half a star because of the extremely unrealistic Navy portion of the storyline, but an excellent movie to see, nonetheless. Well worth the money to see it in theatres.

Jack Reacher
Jack Reacher(2012)

This was a GREAT movie! We watched it twice in two days, because you have to watch it a 2nd time to pick up on all of the details. This movie was extremely well done, and Cruise does another excellent job. One of the better movies this year.

Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy

One of my favorite comedies. Will Ferrell is a genius..'nuff said!

In the Valley of Elah

This is an extremely powerful movie. During the war, this movie made a very strong statement, and should have gotten more notoriety than it did. Excellent movie with a strong theme.

Monsters University

I really wanted to love this, because my son loved the first one. But this one just didn't have the feel of Monsters Inc. I'm not really sure why...but it just didn't feel the same. I actually think this one was a little funnier, but we still didn't feel the connection with this one as we did with the first one. Cant really explain it....

Savages
Savages(2012)

This movie was good, but brutal. You may try to see this without knowing how brutal it really is. If you aren't into that stuff, then don't see it. It has a lot of gore, and even rape. But as for the movie itself, it is really good. The story and action is great. The ending is a little strange and abrupt...almost like they couldn't decide on an ending so they decided to do both....

The Wolverine

Great movie!!! It was everything I thought it would be, and better. They did a great job of combining a great story with awesome action....one of my favorites of the year so far.

Rudy
Rudy(1993)

As a die-hard Notre Dame fan, I have no choice but to have this as one of my favorite movies (lol), but really, its a great film. To see Rudy battle the odds to live his dream is a beautiful thing. It was a little disappointing to find out that the "true" story is mostly BS, and that Rudy was actually a jerk and everyone on the team hated him, but that doesn't take anything away from the beautiful movie for me.

Hoosiers
Hoosiers(1986)

My favorite movie ever. I grew up watching this movie, and it never got old (and still hasn't). If I am scrolling through the cable, and this movie is on, I have to watch it. It is such a beautiful story of a small school basketball team overcoming the odds and making it big. It is also a story of redemption for a couple of the characters. A movie classic...I love it.

Les MisÚrables

If I could give this one 10 stars, I would. There were a couple of downsides. Amanda Seyfried is one of the worst actresses ever. I have no idea how she is an actress at all, and she had no business being in this movie. Apart from being a horrible actress, she was an even WORSE singer!!!! Terrible. She sounded like something from the Wizard of Oz or a Disney character wannabe from the 60's. Thank goodness that this was such an amazing movie that her horrible "Cosette" could not bring it down. On another note, Russell Crowe got a lot of bad reviews as Javert, but I really thought he did not do that bad. Sure, he isn't the best singer, but I thought he did a very good job. He really brought that role as the "cop" out and made it very realistic. I fell in love with Samantha Banks as Eponine. If you do some research into the play, you will see that she has been playing Eponine for a very long time, and it shows. She was excellent in this movie, and she has the voice of an Angel. All in all, this is one of my favorite movies of all time. I never saw the play before this, and I see that I have really been missing out. This music is absolutely beautiful. Definitely not for everyone, because not everyone likes musicals, but it is still worth checking it out. My wife absolutely hates musicals, but she really loved this movie.

The Last King of Scotland

This is one of my favorite movies; not because of the graphic nature of the storyline, but because of how well it was done, and how well the story was told. In my personal opinion, this was one of Forest Whitaker's best acting roles. It is a very sad story, but one that is real and needs to be told. The mixture of comedy, drama, suspense, and even gore is so well done, that this movie deservers to have the great reviews that it has gotten.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation
½

I thought this was awesome! I was never into GI Joe when I was younger, so I have no idea if these 2 movies fall in line with the original plot or not; but I thought both of these GI Joe movies were great. The plot pulls you in and holds you throughout the whole movie. Very well done.

The Last Airbender
½

I was really sorry to see the horrible reviews that this movie got. For some reason, I really liked it. I just thought the storyline and plot was great, and well written. Apparently, I am the only one that thought so!

Escape From Planet Earth

I've seen this one, literally, about 35 times because my son loves it and watches it constantly. But it really is pretty good. There are some very funny parts that parents will enjoy also.

Side Effects
Side Effects(2013)

Surprisingly very good movie! Didn't know what to expect with this one, but really enjoyed it. Suspenseful, and you don't really figure out what's going in until towards the end. Really, really liked this one.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
½

Mixed feelings about this one. Would have like to have seen Jim Carey more. Some very funny parts, but some really stupid parts also. That ending???? Wow...not good. But still worth renting, if you can get a discounted rental somewhere (lol) or see it for free on an airline flight (like we did). Definitely was not worth the price of admission in theatre.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters
½

Pretty cool movie. Got really bad reviews, but we thought it was pretty good....nice effects and a cool storyline.

A Good Day To Die Hard

I didn't think it was as bad as these review show. It was funny to have them keep referring to some of the older Die Hard jokes. If you haven't seen the old ones, you may not find it as funny, but we really liked this one.

Identity Thief
½

Very funny movie. A little weak in the storyline, and most of the funnier parts were already spoiled in the previews, but funny nonetheless. Definitely worth renting on a slow weekend.

Oz the Great and Powerful

Horrible. I thought James Franco was "ok" before this, and we loved him in "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", but he looked like a total tool in this movie.

Fast & Furious 6

The Fast and Furious franchise just gets better and better with each release. Sure, some of the stunts are really unrealistic, and they found the longest runway in the world for the scene at the end, but its still an awesome movie. Cant wait for the next one. We love them all.

Man of Steel
Man of Steel(2013)

Hated it. Hated it. Hated it. Wife loved it because, in her words, "Henry Cavill" was hot. With the exception of a couple of cool fight scenes, this was an INCREDIBLY boring, slow movie, with a ton of talk....especially in the first 30 minutes or so. It clearly goes away from the story of Superman. The producers and writers for some reason felt they could take the storyline somewhere else, and they failed. There aren't many times that I go to the theatre and leave feeling thoroughly pissed off, but I did after this. I almost left in the middle, but stayed because my son thought the fight scenes were "cool". I say again, I HATED it.

Despicable Me 2

Not much to be said here that isn't already obvious. Brilliantly funny movie not only for kids, but adults also. Loved it.

Pacific Rim
Pacific Rim(2013)

We thought it was good, but a little "over the top" at times. Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) was really, really good. Would definitely recommend this movie to be seen in theatres...don't wait for it on DVD or Blu Ray.

Red 2
Red 2(2013)

We thought it was very funny. John Malkovich is brilliant (as always), and Mary-Louise Parker is a very funny partner beside Bruce Willis. Would definitely recommend the movie.
